1. Introduction
----------------

This mod provides a different soundset for Xan NPC in Baldur's Gate I, the one
recorded for Xan BG2 NPC mod. It is available in English only.

This mod is TUTU-compatible and BGT-compatible. You can also install the mod
on Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, and 
Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga.

Xan, a non-player character from the first game in Baldur's Gate series, is a
depressed elven mage - enchanter. Notable quotes: "We're all doomed."
"Life is so hollow." "It is hardly worth the effort of trying."
"What is the point?" "Our quest is vain." "Onward, to futility!"

2. Installation
----------------

This mod should be installed AFTER TUTU or BGT conversion, if any. It is
recommended to install this mod AFTER the BG1 NPC Project, and BEFORE meeting
Xan in the game.

Make sure that Baldur's Gate or ANY game-related utilities are not running,
and that you are installing the mod into the correct directory.

To install the mod, unpack it into your BG directory and run the Setup file. 

Once you see the Readme, the installation is complete.

To reinstall or uninstall the mod, run Setup-XanAlternateBG2Voice.exe in your game 
directory.

ATTENTION: If, due to the BG1 NPC Project, the original soundset was restored,
select Xan and press K key. This should restore the new BG2 soundset. K key
will also help, if you wish to restore Xan's BG2 voice in an old save.
